Christ and Combat: a Vietnam Veteran Shares His Story
Mr. Lynn Lowder is a Vietnam veteran, business owner, attorney, author, keynote speaker, and board member with for-profit and nonprofit organizations. He owns the recently opened Rosie’s Home Cookin‘ restaurant located at 1567 North Aurora Road in Naperville. Rosie’s is committed to supporting veteran patrons and purveyors. Lynn will share his combat experience with those in attendance and what convinced him that Christ is undoubtedly who He professed to be…the Christ. Lynn will reflect upon the behavior of his disciples both before and after Christ’s resurrection.
Lynn has in-depth experience in business, law, and the military. He is the co-founder and CEO of the nonprofit Veteran Business Project (VBP), which energizes and sustains veteran and military spouse entrepreneurship. Among its services, VBP offers a unique “vharmony” matchmaking process, connecting veterans and military spouses seeking to acquire established businesses with business owners wanting to divest. Lynn is a second-term appointee to the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Advisory Committee on Veterans Business Affairs (ACVBA).
He has held various business leadership positions, including serving as a trial attorney, a general counsel for companies including Mail Boxes Etc., a chief operating officer for Colt Firearms, a trustee for the Marine Military Academy, and as president of Lowder Consulting.
A former U.S. Marine “Mustang” officer, Lynn served as a team leader with the 1st Force Reconnaissance Company (Special Operations) in South Vietnam, where he was awarded the Silver Star Medal for valor, the Bronze Star Medal for valor, and the Purple Heart for wounds received in action. His combat and business experiences have been profiled in several books.
