Kate is a retired Marine Corps officer with broad experience as a leader, problem solver, and coach in the most challenging environments. Her organizational development and coaching work focuses on helping clients improve individual/team processes and results through identification and removal of systemic blocks to communication and community. Kate’s writing on national security, gender, and leadership issues has been widely published in national media outlets to include the New York Times, Time magazine, U.S. News and World Report, and the Washington Post. She has also been featured on NPR, Vice News Tonight, C-SPAN, and the PBS News Hour. Kate is the author of Fight Like A Girl: The Truth Behind How Female Marines Are Trained, co-written by Kelly Kennedy. Committed to lifelong learning, Kate holds a Master of Military Science from Marine Corps Command and Staff College. She is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Organizational Consulting and Change Leadership, and Strategic Diversity and Inclusion Management certificate programs. A member of the VA Committee on Women Veterans, she was selected as a HillVets 100 Honoree for 2018.
